Brenda Amaral - Owner & Color Specialist
After completing college and working in radio, I knew I would never feel truly fulfilled unless I pursued my lifelong dream of becoming a stylist. I officially began my career in 1998 and have never looked back. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to experience every aspect of this industry—from front desk to stylist, educator, and now salon owner.
In 2012, I opened Gwen Mireille Salon & Spa, naming it after my daughter Gwen, who now works here in the spa. Building this team of dedicated professionals has been one of the greatest joys of my career, and today I find myself just as passionate about supporting them as I am about working behind the chair.
Confession—I’m a complete hair nerd. I’ve extensively studied the chemistry and makeup of hair and became an American Board Certified Haircolorist in 2000, later serving as both an Evaluator and Mentor for their program. My specialty is creating healthy, shiny, natural-looking color that lasts beautifully from appointment to appointment. While I am no longer accepting new clients, I truly cherish the time I get to spend with the guests I continue to serve, and I love pouring my energy into guiding and supporting our talented GMSS team.
When I’m not in the salon or teaching a class, you’ll usually find me with family at the Cape, traveling, meditating, or chasing a new challenge that helps me grow. Then sometimes I just chill by bingeing Netflix or a fun podcast.
✨ My greatest joy now is helping our team and guests feel supported, inspired, and cared for every time they walk through our doors.
Gwen Amaral - VP of Operations / Spa Tech
My journey in cosmetology started early, spending countless hours shadowing my mom behind the chair and discovering a natural passion for the industry. While I originally focused on hair, I quickly found another love in esthetics, and today I get to combine both worlds here at GMSS. After cosmetology school, my path took me to college and eventually to Newbury Street, where I gained invaluable experience that shaped me both personally and professionally. Those years gave me a deeper perspective on the industry and ultimately led me back to GMSS, where I now specialize in skin treatments, brows, lashes, and special occasion styling.
In addition to my work with guests, I serve as VP of Operations and Social Media Manager, supporting the team and helping our brand shine both inside and outside the salon. My top priority is always your comfort—whether you’re here for a facial, lashes, or wedding hair, I want your experience to feel relaxed, personalized, and uplifting. When I’m not in the salon, I love traveling, spending time with family and friends, catching a good concert, or relaxing on the Cape.

Gloria - Salon Coordinator
Gloria is our Salon Coordinator, no longer behind the chair herself, but still feels lucky to be in the industry she loves. Her welcoming smile is the first thing you will see upon entering the salon. One of her greatest gifts is having that personal touch to really make you feel welcome and like you're part of the family. She is always staying on top of trends and continuing education to help better serve you.
Gloria books and confirms all appointments for each staff member so we are sure you will get to know her well. If you prefer booking online, Gloria will still be your go to person for any and everything else you may need. She is also very knowledgeable about all the products we carry and services we offer. On a personal note, Gloria enjoys gardening, crafting, and spending time with her family (especially her granddaughter and her adorable pug Bella) She looks forward to meeting you and making your experience here with us, the best it could possibly be!
Scott LaPlante - Master Stylist
Scott LaPlante, hair stylist and colorist
I became a stylist because as a child I was completely obsessed with hair. From the Little Mermaid to My Little Pony. I would sit for hours braiding all my sisters' toys that had long hair and beg my mom and my grandmother to let me do anything I possibly could with their hair. It was just something I was born obsessed with. However it wasn’t something I felt safe to pursue until I came out at 20 years old.
Once that milestone was crossed I attended Paul Mitchell the School, where I fell in love with cutting and coloring hair before graduating in 2005. Although I love doing both, cutting is my specialty. Since then I have taken many classes but my favorite part of what I do is getting to know who someone is inside and getting to translate and reflect that beauty and uniqueness on the outside.
I love humor and you will usually hear me laughing and being silly in the salon. However I take what I do very seriously and feel like I provide a safe space to express any experience or emotion this journey of life brings upon us.
I became a reiki master in 2013 because I truly want to help people inside and out. But I’m also obsessed with all of the real housewives franchises and love to dish about anything and everything Bravo!
My goal working behind the chair is to be accepting and inclusive of everyone I meet and to truly just add a little polish and creativity to the gem you already are.
So let’s live, laugh, love and color those greys!

Jessica Correia - Master Stylist
With over 22 years in the beauty industry, I’ve built my career on a foundation of both artistry and connection. I got my start as a personal assistant to a master stylist, where I learned not just the technical skills, but also the ins and outs of salon life and client care. From there, I spent three incredible years helping her launch her own salon, and then devoted 16 wonderful years to honing my craft, building lasting client relationships, and defining my own unique style behind the chair.
In January 2025, I joined GMSS, excited to continue my journey surrounded by a supportive, talented team I’ve known for nearly 20 years. It felt like “home” the moment I walked in, and I’m thrilled to share my work with both new and familiar faces.
I specialize in long, luxurious cuts, seamless foiling, precision haircuts, and dimensional coloring. What I love most is helping clients achieve their dream look while creating styles that feel natural and personal to them. For me, it’s about more than hair—it’s about the relationships built in the chair, the conversations, the trust, and the confidence that comes when someone feels like the best version of themselves.
Fun fact? I’m a proud Blockhead (yes, a die-hard New Kids on the Block fan), and a loyal Donnie girl. It always sparks fun conversations with clients—especially fellow fans! Outside of work, my world revolves around my husband and our two daughters. We love everything Disney, and I also enjoy a good book and sharing recommendations with clients.
My goal is always to make you feel completely comfortable, cared for, and confident. Whether it’s a small refresh or a big transformation, your appointment should feel special from start to finish.

Denise Graziano - Master Stylist
I have quite simply, always enjoyed doing hair. I remember spending hours playing with my Hair Styling Barbie doll head when I was very young up until last week. Just kidding, she’s long gone but i have traded her in for real people and an occasional mannequin doll head to stay true to my roots.
I was most likely inspired by my Grandmother who besides being a really cool lady was a Hairstylist.
I started my hair career in my twenties in Boston where I realized I was fascinated with listening to my guests stories about their relationships, their daily lives, their adventures, misadventures, dreams, and struggles. The things that make you “YOU”.
I believe continuing education in my field can be as much fun and exciting as it is important. Traveling to places i’ve been to often or places I’ve never been before to study styling, cutting, coloring or sometimes a bit of the science behind what we do continues to inspire me to do and be better.
I’m serious about my job, doing my best to help you look your best. Achieving the result that suits you and your lifestyle. I ask lots of questions, consultations are very important to me and I will be listening to what you’re saying, and when asked I will give my honest opinion. I would love to help you with styling tips and treatments for better hair.
But I also want to laugh a lot, talk recipes, silly tv shows that we obsess over , books that light up your life, music because it makes the world go round and whatever is going on with your family because there is always going to be something.
Everything is an experience, let’s make this a great one.

Cassie Clauson - Master Stylist
Like most hairstylists, I have had a love for doing hair as long as I can remember. Hair has always been a creative outlet for me but it was in 2011 when I completely immersed myself in the industry and decided to make it my career. I graduated from the Toni & Guy Academy in RI and went on to continue my education and refine my knowledge at a Toni & Guy Salon in Hoboken, NJ.
My foundations of education and creative thinking blossomed right from the start. I am extremely proud of my educator background and love to share my craft with other stylists. I am thrilled to be the New Talent Educator here at GMSS. This allows me to pour my passion back into the industry and help my peers be the best they can be and love this career as much as I do!
Behind the chair I create tailored hairstyles that best suit your beauty ideals and your lifestyle while giving you tips and tricks along the way so that you can recreate the look at home and wear your hair as your best accessory everyday! I have a very laid back and unassuming demeanor and strive to ensure that all people and hair types feel welcomed in my chair.
Outside of the salon I love spending time with my family, friends and my boyfriend and our two dogs. I enjoy trying new things and am always down for an adventure. Whether it’s a beautiful beach day, a hike in nature, a concert or traveling somewhere new- I’m here for all of it!
Make an appointment with me and I would be happy to help you elevate your hair!

Hannah Galbato - Master Stylist
I have always had a drive and desire to be in the hair industry since I was a little kid. To have the opportunity to help others express themselves through their hair and to get to infuse my own personal creativity was a dream . I started working in a hair salon while I was still in High School which just furthered my drive to be a part of this amazing industry. Once I graduated from West Bridgewater HS in 2018, I continued my education at Toni & Guy and the real journey began. It was amazing to have the opportunity to learn from people before I even started hair school but then to get to build a solid foundation with Toni & Guy has absolutely helped make me the stylist I am today.
After starting at Gwen Mireille, I have continued taking classes to further my drive and creativity. To me the reward is helping people look and feel as amazing as they should. One of the best aspects of the job is the opportunity to get to know so many people from different walks of life. Some of my favorite things to do with hair are, balayage, braiding, and finish work (I love a good beach wave).
On a side note, when I am not in the salon doing what I love, fixer upper marathons and an awesome Netflix series usually keep me busy. I also enjoy spending time with my amazing friends and family whether it be skiing, camping, or of course the beach. I can't wait to get my hands on your hair and help you shine as much as your hair does!

Tess Brunelle - Stylist/MUA
Since the age of 13 I’ve always sported unique haircuts with bright hair colors paired with any makeup I could get my hands on. Because of this, my love of hair and makeup has only grown over the years. I soon discovered that most stylists were hesitant towards my want for shorter, colorful hair and I, like most middle schoolers, started coloring my hair myself. By the eighth grade I was introduced to the option of Bristol Plymouth and instantly jumped at the opportunity to study cosmetology. I’ve been doing makeup for as long as I could hold a brush and recently placed first in the Nation for Esthetics at SkillsUSA.
I started at Gwen Mireille as an assistant my senior year and quickly began soaking up any and all knowledge I could whilst working towards getting behind the chair. I am dedicated to my craft and am continually pursuing new educational opportunities. I love this industry as it is ever changing and there is always something new to learn. My goal is to create a space for fearless self expression. Although I love working on highlights and natural coloring, I thrive off vivid colors and cuts that can range anywhere from full heads of neon to strips of pastel color.
Outside of work you can usually find me walking around a Target or at any concert I can get into. At home I’m often chipping away at some sort of diy project whilst wrangling foster kittens. I am a self proclaimed crazy cat lady and am always up for an adventure. Creativity tends to follow me in every aspect of life and I’d love to make your fearless hair dreams, no matter how “out of the box” they may seem, a reality.

Sabrina Neto - Junior Stylist
I’ve always known cosmetology was my calling. From the time I was little, whenever someone asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was always “hairstylist.” Through the cosmetology program at Bristol-Plymouth, I fell in love with the craft, and at 17 I started my first job at GMSS as an assistant. By senior year, I had earned my license and joined the co-op program here, gaining hands-on experience that confirmed I was right where I belonged.
Foiling is my sweet spot—I love creating bright, head-turning blondes—but balayage has my heart because it lets me personalize every look to each client. What I love most is helping people feel happy and confident, while continuing to grow alongside a team that feels like family.
I’m proud of my Portuguese roots and the drive and work ethic my parents instilled in me. Whether it’s behind the chair, spending time with family and friends, or exploring new adventures, I carry that same dedication and passion with me everywhere I go. My goal is for every client to feel comfortable, cared for, and amazed by the transformation we create together.

Ashley Campbell - New Talent
Ever since I was little, I’ve had a passion for doing hair—whether it was styling family members or friends at recess, I was always looking for a way to get my hands on someone’s hair. That early love grew into a determination to pursue this career, and I’ve worked hard to gain the experience and knowledge it takes to become a true stylist in the salon world.
My specialties are foiling and root touch-ups, and I love the transformation that a good blowout can bring—I was always that student in cosmetology school who looked forward to perfecting a round brush style. But beyond the techniques, what I love most is making people feel worthy, confident, and beautiful. Seeing a client’s face light up at the end of an appointment makes me just as happy as they are.
I chose GMSS because this team truly feels like a family—it’s not just about working together, but about supporting one another without judgment and always being there to lend a hand. My hope is that every guest who sits in my chair feels comfortable, welcome, and heard. Whether it’s sharing a laugh, venting about life, or celebrating a big change, I want your time with me to feel uplifting and confidence-boosting.
Outside the salon, you’ll usually find me spending time with loved ones, out shopping, or just enjoying life. My favorite mantra is simple but powerful: everything happens for a reason.
